Greetings from Oslo! I was there the first week of November 2011 to give the keynote presentation at the Norwegian Sports Medicine Associations Annual Congress. This meeting is attended by all the major sports medicine physicians, physiotherapists and sports researchers in Norway and many surrounding countries. I spoke to the group on “Exercise Is Medicine; Merging Fitness with Healthcare”, and of course I was able to tell them about the Every Body Walk! campaign. As always, I got some great feedback and the group was very supportive.

In addition, I gave a presentation at the Norwegian Ministry of Health, attended by the Health minister and his cabinet. I spoke about the KP Thrive Campaign and the exercise vital sign. They were very impressed with all that we are doing and would like to adopt much of it for the healthcare system here in Norway.

Of course, every day I was here I went for a walk. Although the weather was cool and a bit foggy, there was no snow and the temps were perfect for walking. Oslo is a very safe and beautiful city, that is very walkable. My favorite spot for walking was Frogner Park in central Oslo. Here is a picture of me walking by one of the many beautiful sculptures in this park.

Keep walking!
