RoCo Fit –Rogers County Free Fitness Training Program was developed in 2011 and began in 2012 as a “Free” fitness training program available to all residents (12 yrs. old and older) who live, work, learn, and/or play in Rogers County regardless of income. It’s focus is to help people become active and improve their health with an enhanced and mentored couch to 5k approach.
RoCo Fit includes three yearly sessions of 10 weeks each, consisting of twice/week experienced mentor lead walk and walk/run workouts, weekly educational and informational emails, cross training and educational opportunities, incentives, social interaction, and accountability.  Workouts are held at Claremore Lake Park Trails with points given towards incentives for attendance at workout, educational clinics, and participation in area physical activity events. Participants receive schedules listing workouts, honor walks/runs, cross training, clinics, and events. Five levels of each, walk and walk/run, are available beginning/intermediate/advanced). Other NE OK communities have adopted this program (Garfield Co, Washington  County (FLOWCo), and soon Mayes Co.).
