National Public Health Week starts Monday, April 6. Don’t miss these exciting events centered on this year’s theme: “Healthiest Nation 2030”.

Live webcast – Raising the Grade
Monday, April 6, 1 – 3 p.m. EDT

Despite what you may read or hear, the U.S. is not the healthiest nation. We live shorter lives and suffer more health issues than people in other high-income countries. Join APHA President Shiriki Kumanyika, Dr. Gail Christopher and our panel of experts as we discuss opportunities that exist and challenges we need to overcome to create the healthiest nation.
This event will be held at the Kaiser Family Foundation in Washington, D.C., and will also be broadcast live on the Web to an audience across the country. Please register by Friday, April 3, at 5 p.m. EDT.

Twitter Chat: #NPHWchat – Building momentum
Wednesday, April 8, 2 – 3 p.m. EDT

What steps must the U.S. take to become the healthiest nation? How can we work with non-traditional partners to achieve better health? Join APHA for a robust online discussion of these and other challenges in our fifth annual Twitter chat. Ask questions, add your comment, share resources or just follow the conversation – it is sure to be lively. We’ll be joined by ABC News’ Dr. Richard Besser, the American Medical Association, Center for Science in the Public Interest, CVSHealth and many others. Register to see who else is participating, follow @NPHW and use the official hashtag #NPHWchat.

Visit the NPHW website to learn more about the daily themes for National Public Health Week and other events in your area. Together, we can create the healthiest nation in one generation.
