Expert Bio

Julie Crockford has served as President and Executive Director of the Emerald Necklace Conservancy, a public private partnership, since 2007. The Conservancy, founded in 1998, brings people together to renew, enliven and advocate for the Emerald Necklace park system in Boston and Brookline designed by Frederick Law Olmsted. Under her leadership, the organization has expanded its stewardship capacity, doubling the number of volunteers for the parks and launching an environmental education and summer employment program for city youth, among other initiatives.
