Expert Bio

Deborah has contributed her unique skills to a wide range of civic and professional organization task forces, boards, and committees. She is widely recognized for her leadership and vision in community consensus building, comprehensive city and active transportation planning, streetscape design and pedestrian safety issues. In her efforts to make Los Angeles more walkable, she founded a pedestrian advocacy organization, Los Angeles Walks, is the Chair of the City of Los Angeles Pedestrian Advisory Committee, a member of the Green LA Coalition Transportation Work Group Living Streets Initiative, a board member of the Streetsblog Los Angeles, and has conducted Walkabouts in three communities – Hollwood, Glassell Park/Cypress Park and Downtown Pasadena.
