On April 27, 2013, the Northeast L.A. Riverfront Collaborative will host the River Bike + Walk Spectacular. The event will be held between 4 p.m.-8 p.m. at Marsh Park next to the L.A. River in the Elysian Valley neighborhood. Starting with a bike ride along the L.A. River Greenway Trail, visitors will enjoy a fun-filled day with family activities at a community fair, and ending with an outdoor movie screening of the cult favorite “Beetlejuice” right along the L.A. River.
KCET Departures will be there to collect your stories through our StoryShare event. Take the opportunity to share your stories, experiences, and pictures of life along the river, your favorite ways to use the river, or any concerns you may have about the river.
Departures StoryShare is an ongoing series of community recording events aimed at capturing the stories of individuals who have strong personal memories and history attached to their neighborhoods. Our goal is to create a collective narrative of a neighborhood through the personal history of community members.
You can participate by finding our booth at the community fair at Marsh Park, starting at 4 p.m., where you will be assigned a time slot. For your convenience, you can also pre-register here.
